Bluffton Rush Foundation Limited is a South Carolina Non-Profit organization and the US Internal Revenue Service determined that it is a public charity under IRC Section 501(c)(3). As such Bluffton Rush SC cannot permit any of its income or assets to benefit anyone other than those it is intended to benefit – our players and their families. As such, every dollar of revenue must be spent to improve the growth and development of our players.
Some youth soccer clubs operate as a for-profit organization like a corporation or a limited liability company. These types of organizations have “owners” who can turn a profit or otherwise benefit financially from the “business”.
While BRSC always welcomes sponsorships on any level, our primary source of revenue is our registration fees and fees for our programming. We structure our fees to be as transparent as possible. The only fees our families pay in addition to their registration fees are the cost of uniforms and attendance at more than one tournament per season.
Some youth soccer clubs have registration fees AND “team fees” or other hidden fees.
Below is an explanation of how your registration fees are spent.
Wages make up the bulk of BRSC’s expenses. These include the salaries of the 3 members of the Senior Staff who average a full-time annual salary of less than $30,000 together with our part-time wages for our Coaching Staff. The Senior Staff that also serve as coaches do not receive additional pay beyond their salaries.
Field space is the biggest challenge for all youth sports groups in the area. The demand for fields is extremely high and, hence, the rental fees charged are equally high. Despite providing a tremendous public service, youth sports groups get little if any help from County governments.
Playing Fees include the costs to register with South Carolina Youth Soccer to have access to statewide leagues and tournament as well as access to programs such as US Soccer coaching education. These fees include league fees and referee fees.
Tournament expenses include the registration of each team for tournaments together with reimbursement to the Coach for his/her travel and accommodations. Again, BRSC pays these expenses for one tournament each season for each team. Should a team want to attend a second tournament, the parents would be responsible for paying these costs.
